Olympic long jump silver medallist Wayne Pinnock and shot put bronze medallist Rajindra Campbell head Jamaica's 23-member team named for next weekend's World Indoor Championships in Nanjing, China.

Rusheen McDonald, the reigning 400 metre bronze medallist from last year's World Indoor Championships in Glasgow, as well 2019 world long jump gold medallist Tajay Gayle are among the 16 men listed. Other notable names include Rohan Watson, Kimar Farquharson and Romaine Beckford.

Olympic 100 metre hurdles finalist and national record holder Ackera Nugent is the nation's top medal prospect on the women's side which has 6 members.  Natasha Morrison, Jodean Williams, Amoi Brown, Leah Anderson and Joan Reid complete the women's team.

Maurice Wilson will lead the technical staff including head coach Paul Francis and Kerri-Lee Ricketts, believes this 23 member squad can do well, even with a few stars missing out and
the absence of a women's mile relay squad.

Jamaica will be looking to improve on the three bronze medals won at last year's edition in Glasgow. The World Indoor Championships will run from next Friday through to Sunday.
