Scorpions return to winning ways in regional 4-day championship

The Jamaica Scorpions returned to winning ways in the CWI regional 4-day championship, as they defeated the West Indies Academy by 40 runs before lunch on Saturday’s 4th and final day at Coolidge Cricket Ground in Antigua.

Resuming the day at 256-5 needing a further 100 runs to win, the academy team only managed to add another 49 runs before being bowled out for 315.

Carlon Bowen-Tuckett who was 46 overnight, made 70, while Joshua Bishop carried his 25 up to 49. The academy actually lost their last four wickets for 19 runs.

Marquino Mindley who claimed the first three wickets on the morning, ended with 3-46, while Ojay Shields, Jeavor Royal and Brad Barnes had two wickets each.
