Hurricane Leslie may grow into a Category 2 storm with winds of up to 110 miles per hour as it approaches Bermuda.
According to the Bermuda weather Service, Hurricane-strength winds of at least 74 miles per hour, may reach the island by this Saturday.
In addition, a small-craft warning has also been issued for the area, where waves as high as 9 feet and winds of 30 mph are expected within the next thirty six hours.
Leslie developed into a hurricane today, with top sustained winds of 75 miles per hour.
The centre's current track forecast predicts it will pass almost directly over country.
Meanwhile Swells associated with Hurricane Leslie, continued affecting the U.S. East Coast, the northern Leeward Islands, Puerto Rico and the Virgin Islands.
The swells could cause life-threatening surf and rip currents.
