It could be at least two months before Caymanian Jeffrey Webb finds out if he will be extradited to the United States to face corruption charges.
Mr Webb remained in Swiss custody up to Friday night, after being arrested in a pre-dawn raid in Zurich on Wednesday.
He is accused by the United States Department of Justice of seeking and accepting bribes over football television rights deals.
Webb, also president of the Cayman Islands Football Association, has since been provisionally dismissed as president of CONCACAF, and as a vice president of football’s world governing body, FIFA.
