More than a third of Grenadians can be considered to be
poor, according to a new poverty assessment survey.
Grenada's Minister of Finance, Nazim Burke, released the preliminary results of the survey conducted with the help of the Caribbean Development Bank.
Those below the poverty line in Grenada earn less than US$180 a month.
Mr. Burke said the number of poor people may have increased because of the current economic downturn.
