Former Trinidad and Tobago Prime Minister and current Member of Parliament Patrick Manning is expected to be back in Trinidad in another month after being treated in the United States following a stroke. Mr. Manning's son, Brian said his father had been released from hospital and was now staying with relatives in Maryland, USA.
The former Trinidardian Prime Minister suffered a stroke at his San Fernando home in January. Two weeks later, he was taken from the San Fernando General Hospital to the US by air ambulance. Mr Manning was hospitalised at the Walter Reed National Military Medical Centre, Washington, DC, where he was expected to have undergone physio-, speech and occupational therapy.
On Saturday night, Brian Manning told reporters in Trinidad, that he expected his father to return home in about 30 days. He said he was told that he is now walking with the assistance of a cane.
