A 30-year-old photo-journalist attached to the Trinidad
Guardian newspaper, was found dead over the weekend in her Maraval
apartment.
Zen Dionne Jarrette was found dead in her apartment on Friday night by her landlord.
An autopsy done at Port-of-Spain General Hospital revealed she died as a result of an overdose of medication for her heart condition.
Ms. Jarrette had been hospitalized following chest pains last Wednesday but discharged herself the same night and returned to her home.
Ms Jarrette started off at the T&T Mirror in late 1998 and then moved to the Express in 1999 where she worked for about one year as a feature writer and then migrated to the United States.
She also spent some time in Japan.
She returned to T&T about three years ago and was a freelance photo/journalist with the Guardian.
Investigations into her death are continuing.
Jarrette is survived by her parents, a husband, three sisters and a brother.
