Last year’s Jamaica 2000 Guineas and St Leger winner Blue Vinyl made a winning seasonal debut by landing Saturday's feature event, the Temperence Oaks Trophy for Overnight Allowance runners over 6-and-half-furlongs at Caymanas Park.

Blue Vinyl who was sent off as the 9-5 second favourite in the field of nine, was ridden to victory by Javaniel Patterson for trainer Patrick "Wacky" Lynch.

Blue Vinyl who was racing for the first time in four months, closed out a double for Patterson on the 9-race card and came home in 1:20.2 after splits of 23.3, 47.3 and 1:12.2, winning by four and a quarter lengths.

Meanwhile, the inform Tevin Foster opened and closed the programme with 7-5 chance Jamal James and the 9-5 favourite Whisky to retake the early lead in the jockey's championship, one ahead of Reyan Lewis who had one win on the card.

Racing continues next Saturday.
