West Indies captain Kraigg Brathwaite, says the team will not get carried away with their strong start when day three of the first test against Australia resumes Thursday night Jamaica time in Perth.
The Windies in their first innings reply to 598- 4 declared by the Aussies, reached 74-0 at stumps on day two.
Debutant Tagenarine Chanderpaul is 47 not out and Brathwaite 18 and Brathwaite was full of praise for his opening partner who had to withstand a fiery spell of short-pitched bowling from the Aussies.
The Australians who resumed on 293- 2, piled up their first innings score on the back of double centuries from Marnus Labuschange 204 and former captain Steve Smith 200 not out.
Smith in the process, equalled Sir Don Bradman's 29 test centuries and propelled his average to 232 against the Windies in six tests.
The two shared in a 251 run third wicket stand that was broken by Brathwaite who ended with 2-65.
Travis Head fell just short of a fifth test century, after his demise for 99. Scores so far: Australia 598-4 declared; West Indies 74-0.
