Chanderpaul ruled out of third test against New Zealand; Reifer calls for more resilience

Report by RJRGLEANER Communications Group Sports Reporter Spencer Darlington

West Indies opening batter Tagenarine Chanderpaul has been ruled out of the third and final test against New Zealand, as he continues to recover from the side strain sustained prior to the second encounter. The game gets underway at 5:00 pm Jamaica time on Wednesday.

Meanwhile, West Indies batting coach Floyd Reifer says the team must improve its ability to maintain control for longer periods, particularly with the bat, as they prepare for the final test at Mount Maunganui.

Reflecting on the opening two matches of the series, Reifer said the Caribbean side had repeatedly placed themselves in strong positions, only to let the momentum slip, especially in the batting department.
