Charles to replace Darren Bravo in Windies T20 squad

RJR Sports understands that 27 year old St Lucian batsman Johnson Charles has been selected to replace Darren Bravo in the West Indies squad for the upcoming T20 World Cup.

Charles who made his T20 international debut in 2011, was also a member of the West Indies squad which won the World T20 four years ago.

Darren Bravo wrote to the selectors, expressing his desire to be withdrawn from the squad in an effort to concentrate on the longer formats of the game including the regional 4-day Professional Cricket League.

The West Indies selectors had earlier made two changes to the squad with Carlos Brathwaite replacing the injured Kieron Pollard and Ashley Nurse coming in for Sunil Narine who has asked for more time to remodel his action.

The T20 World Cup will take place in India from March 8 to April 3.

The West Indies have been drawn in Group 1 of the Super 10 section alongside England, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the winner of Group 1 in the first round where Afghanistan, Hong Kong, Scotland and Zimbabwe will do battle.

The West Indies will open their campaign against England on March 16.
