Cricket West Indies (CWI) has confirmed their tour of Bangladesh for January with the teams to play three One Day Internationals and two test matches as part of the Cricket World Cup Super League and World Test Championship respectively.
The approval was made following a recommendation from CWI's Medical Advisory Committee (MAC), having received a detailed report from the pre-tour visit to Bangladesh by CWI director, Dr Akshai Mansingh, and security manager, Paul Slowe earlier this month.
Despite having a high infection rate, Mansingh is confident the measures laid out by the Bangladesh Cricket Board are adequate.
The tour will be a shortened one from what was originally scheduled, as there will be one fewer test and no T20 series.
The ODIs will be played on January 20, 22 and 25, with the third game to be held at Chattogram, which will also host he first test starting on February 3.
The second test will be played in Dhaka from February 11. The Caribbean team will arrive in Dhaka on January 10, after which they are likely to do in-room quarantine for the first three days, followed by four days of training among themselves, before a warm-up one day game.
