Jamaican jockey Jason Simpson notches double at Thistledown

Jamaican jockey Jason Simpson recorded a double on Monday's 8-race card at Thistledown in Ohio. Simpson won the 5th event, making most of the running aboard the 3-2 chance Colonel Vargo in a 3 year old and up Allowance Optional Claiming race over 6 furlongs on the dirt.

He rounded out his double in the closing event astride the 3 year old grey filly and 6-5 favourite Silver Brook going 6 furlongs in what was a maiden claiming contest.

The double took Simpson tally for the season at Thistledown to 10 wins from 91 mounts. The season concludes on October 8.
