General Manager for Dunbeholden FC Roger Simmons says the club is getting closer to appointing a successor for coach Phillip Williams but navigating the local landscape continues to be a challenge, given the lure of schoolboy football.
At the start of the new Jamaica Premier League (JPL) season earlier this month, more than 50 percent of head coaches held a similar position with high school teams.
This is the reason for Williams resigning from his post with Dunbeholden on Monday as his dual role as an educator and coach at St Andrew Technical High School made it difficult for him to continue with the club. Simmons though believes that the disparity in resources is a factor.
According to Simmons, Dunbeholden are hoping to appoint a new head coach before their next Premier League game.
