Excelsior High in command of Grace Shield final against St Jago

Excelsior High were in control of their ISSA First Global Grace Shield final against St Jago, holding a 204 run lead at stumps on day one of the 3-day final at Sabina Park.

Batting first, Excelsior posted 337 all out with Michael Clarke top scoring with 73, Demarco Scott making 65 and Tarique Parkes 26. This against 5-117 from Vitel Lawes, 2-119 from Milton Luckain and Lindale Anderson 2-28.

Excelsior then reduced St Jago to 133-8 to close day 1 with a 204 run advantage. Luckain returned to make 52 to be the top scorer so far for St. Jago.

Luckain was dismissed with what turned out to be the final delivery of the day as stumps were drawn after he was out caught off the bowling of Scott. Anderson contributed 25 and Lawes 13. Scott has so far bagged 3-40 and Tamarie Redwood 2-29 for Excelsior.
