Scorpions produce better batting display but still face uphill task against Harpy Eagles

The Jamaica Scorpions are facing an uphill task to avoid defeat in their CWI 4th round regional 4-day match against defending champions Guyana Harpy Eagles at Sabina Park.

The Scorpions were 179-3 in their second innings at stumps on day three, requiring a further 310 runs to win. Kirk McKenzie was 104 not out and with him at the close was Javell Glenn on 5. McKenzie also shared a 142 run second wicket partnership with Brandon King who made 53.

Jermaine Blackwood went without scoring. First innings destroyer Ronaldo Alimohamed has so far taken 2-31.

Earlier in the day, the Harpy Eagles posted 193-3 declared in their second innings after resuming on 68-1.

Tagenarine Chanderpaul made 74, Kevlon Anderson 50 and Tevin Imlach 31. There was a wicket each for Marquino Mindely, Odean Smith and Brad Barnes.

Scores so far: Guyana Harpy Eagles 339 and 193-3 declared; Jamaica Scorpions 44 and 179-3.
