Former Jamaica Badminton Association President Joseph Clarke has chided presidential candidate Audley Astwood and the outgoing executive for not running a proper club league in recent years.
Clarke will be running of the slate of the other presidential candidate Robert Richards.
“What happened is club league has died for many years. In the last two years without any JBA assistance, two individuals have gotten a club league started. If we had a national backing for it, if it was being supported by the national association, an association that was working towards the development of the sport, there would be a lot more support from it, than from two individuals seeking to have something going on a smaller scale”, Clarke remarked.
Clarke led the Jamaica Badminton Association between 20012 and 2003.
