Holmwood athlete suffers broken leg at Penn Relays

Sports Minister Olivia Grange has confirmed that national junior representative Samantha Pryce of Holmwood Technical will be undergoing surgery on a broken leg sustained during the 4x800m Championship of America final on Friday.

Minister Grange says Pryce is being treated at the Penn Medical Centre and the government was making the arrangements to ensure that she gets the best care.

According to Minister Grange, Pryce and all the Jamaican High school athletes competing at the Penn Relays  have been registered on the ministry's Athletes' Insurance Programme.

Pryce who started the relay, fell after being tripped and was then stepped on accidentally by the athlete who had tripped her.
