The West Indies are trailing India by 352 runs entering Saturday's third day of the second and final test at the Queen's Park Oval in Trinidad.
The home team ended day 2 on 86-1, replying to India's first innings 438 all out. Captain Kraigg Brathwaite 37 and debutant Kirk McKenzie on 14, are the not out batsmen, as Tagenarine Chanderpaul went for 33.
Earlier, the Indians who resumed on 288-4, added another 150 runs.
Virat Kohli took his overnight 87 to a top score of 121, while Ravindra Jadeja who resumed on 36, went on to make 61. Kohli and Jadeja added 159 for the 5th wicket.
Jomel Warrican led the West indies bowling with 3-89, while Kemar Roach bagged 3-104. Jason Holder weighed in with 2-57, while Shannon Gabriel had 1-74.
