United Oil & Gas gets environmental permits for exploration in Jamaica

United Oil & Gas has recently obtained the required environmental and beach licence to start oil exploration in Jamaica.

This clears the way for the next phase of the technical work at the Walton-Morant basins.

The environmental permits, which was granted by the National Environment and Planning Agency (NEPA), allows the company to assemble the required equipment and to look for renewable resources, such as oil and gas, in the relevant offshore areas.

The beach licence will facilitate the conducting of surveys to map the seafloor, test the ground and collect information about the environment.
