The Jamaica Intercollegiate Association (INTERCOL Jamaica) is aiming to send 20 athletes to compete at the World University Games in Shenzhen, China August 12 to 23.
With this ambitious plan to send a 26 member delegation to China, Anthony Davis, Association President, has association revealed that the body has already appointed an agent in China to raise sponsorship for the team.
"We have now secured full sponsorship for the entire 26 man delegation. The Jamaican delegation will be wearing gears called 361 degrees, which means one more than a full circle. What we need to do now is find the air fare and other related expenses," said Davis.
The Jamaica Intercollegiate Association meanwhile, will have an official headquarters after signing a user agreement with the University of Technology (U-Tech) on Thursday.
"For as long as U-tech survives, then we expect that you will be a part of us and as long as U-tech survives, sports shall be a major thrust of this institution so me help me God," said Professor Errol Morrison, President of the University of Technology.
