JAAA selects inexperienced team for World Relays

An inexperienced team of 31 athletes has been selected by the Jamaica Athletics Administrative Association (JAAA) to represent the country in five events at the World Athletics Relays, which will take place in Nassau, Bahamas from May 4-5.

The list is without several of Jamaica's top athletes, including the likes of Shelly-Ann Fraser Pryce, Shericka Jackson, and Elaine Thompson-Herah.

Reigning 400 metres world champion Antonio Watson as well as the likes of sprint relay bronze medallist Oblique Seville are also missing.

In the men's pool, seven athletes have been selected for the 4x100m with World Champs bronze medallists ackeem Blake and Ryiem Forde leading the charge.

World Champs mile relay silver medallist Demish Gaye lead a team of nine men including World U20 400m hurdles record holder Roshawn Clarke for the 4x400m and mixed relays.

Seven athletes, including the likes of Natasha Morrison and rising star Alana Reid  will be in the pool for the women's 4x100 metres.

Eight women are down for the 4x400m and mixed relays with Olympic relay bronze medallists Janieve Russell and Stacey Williams among the athletes.
