Jackson sparkles at JAAA All Comers meet

World champion Shericka Jackson secured victory in her first 200 metre race of the season at the JAAA All Comers meet on Saturday night at the National Stadium .

Jackson was impressive in securing victory in 22.25 seconds to finish well ahead of MVP teammate Stephanie-Ann McPherson 23 .38 and Tatjana Pinto of Elite Track Club 23.74. Jackson is now the fastest Jamaican woman over both 100 and 200 metres so far this season.

Outstanding Hydel High sprinter Alana Reid upstaged her senior rival in the women's 100 metres. Reid, the reigning World Under-20 200m bronze medallist, sped to 11.16 seconds to win ahead of Olympic sprint relay gold medallist Briana Williams who was second in 11.20 and Tia Clayton of MVP 11.36.

Young sensation Oblique Seviille took the men’s 100 metres, clocking 9.94 seconds to turn back the challenge of veteran Yohan Blake who was second in 10.15 and Nigel Ellis of Elite Track Club third in 10.22.

New kid on the block Rohan Watson of MVP Track Club was second overall after winning his heat in a personal best 10.12.

The men's 200m was won by Zharnel Hughes of the UK and Racers Track Club in a season's best 20.18 ahead of Tyquendo Tracey of Swept Track Club 20.81 and Zandrion Barnes of the GC Foster College 21.05.

Jazeel Murphy of Titans Track Club was second overall after winning his heat in 20.76.

World Championship 4x400 meter relayt medalist Stacey-Ann Williams of Elite Track Club took victory in the women's 400 metres clocking 51.43.

She won the event ahead of Ashley Williams 52.11 and Shana Kaye Anderson 54.27.

The men's equivalent was won by former Jamaica College standout Deandre Watkin now at Elite Track Club in 46. 21. Alexavier Monfries was second in 46.31 and Anthony Cox third in 46.75.
