Jamaica finishes second at Goodwill Swim Champs despite topping medal table

Jamaica created history as they topped the medal table at the Goodwill Swimming Championships in Barbados for the first time, but fell short of the title, finishing second overall.  

Jamaica returned home with over one hundred medals as well as 38 national records while also smashing ten meet records at the competition. The team took home 101 medals, comprising 48 gold, 26 silver and 27 bronze.

Jamaica got 49 medals at last year’s championships. Overall, there were 151 personal best times by the Jamaican swimmers who will now turn their attention to the Carifta Games next year April in Trinidad and Tobago.
