Jamaica gets historic qualification for judo at Tokyo Olympics

British-born Judo fighter Ebony Drysdale-Daley has become another history making athlete for Jamaica. She will be the country's first ever competitor in the sport to qualify for the Olympic games.

The 26-year-old Drysdale-Daley will mark the historic occasion when she takes the floor for competition in the women's 70 kilogram category on July 28 in Tokyo, Japan.

Drysdale-Daley, who qualifies to represent Jamaica through her father, first landed in the history books in 2019, when she won gold at the Commonwealth Games Judo Championships, in Birmingham, England.
