The court has granted an injunction preventing the Jamaica Football Federation (JFF) from holding its elections this Sunday January 14.
The JFF elections have been postponed pending the determination of the legitimacy of two affiliate bodies.
The elections are suspended for at least 28 days.
The injunction was filed in the Supreme Court by Beach Soccer Jamaica and its president Pat Garel, as they seek to participate in the upcoming election of officers for the JFF.
Beach Soccer is claiming they are a member of the JFF by virtue of Article 12 of the constitution of the Federation, but were overlooked for another body, Beach Football Association of Jamaica which was formed on October 18, of last year.
Beach Soccer Jamaica is recognised by Beach Soccer worldwide, as reflected in a letter dated November 13, 2023.
