Leblond gets second chance to advance in Contender Series

Canadian boxer Dave Leblond will have another shot at advancing beyond the preliminary phase of the Wray and Nephew Contender Boxing Series. Ryan Wagner, the number 2 ranked fighter on the Canadian team, has withdrawn from the competition.

Leblond who lost on a split decision to Jamaican Tetsi 'Lights Out' Davis, had appealed the decision of the fight, but the Jamaica Boxing Board of Control dismissed his claim. Leblond will now fight Nico Yeyo for a spot in the quarter final round of the competition. Reports are that Wagner failed an MRI scan which resulted in him having to withdraw from the tournament.
