Title holders Jamaica College have booked their semi-final ticket while it will take the final series of matches on Saturday to decide Group ‘G’ of the ISSA Flow Manning Cup quarter-final round following Tuesday's latest series of matches.
4-time defending champions Jamaica College and Calabar appear headed for a draw at the Constant Spring Complex, having played out a goalless first half and extending that deadlock into the better part of the second half.
However, JC’s top player Tyreke Magee came up big for the ‘Dark blues’ in crunch-time when it mattered. He converted a free-kick 7 minutes from time to settle the issue, as JC assumed pole position in the group and also confirmed their place in the November 15 semi-finals.
Meanwhile, Group ‘G’ remains wide open following two drawn results on Tuesday. Holy Trinity and St Andrew Technical played out a goalless affair.
The game served up very few chances and the result combined with the 0-0 all draw between St Catherine High and St George's College means that all four teams are now on 2 points each entering Saturday's final series of games where Holy Trinity will meet St Catherine High and St Andrew Technical meet St George's College.
Elsewhere on Tuesday, pre-season favourites Kingston College moved a step closer to the last four after their 3-0 win over Bridgeport at the Prison Oval.
KC will need only a draw against Jamaica College on Saturday while Calabar must beat Bridgeport by at least five clear goals and hope that KC lose to Jamaica College.
