Mamma Mia goes all the way in King's Plate feature

Commentary by Track Announcer Brian Rickman

Mamma Mia outran her rivals from gate to wire to land the feature King's Plate, an Overnight Allowance contest for 3 year old and up, going seven and a half furlongs at Caymanas Park on Saturday.

Mamma Mia did all the running, in the 10 horse field, making every post a winning one with Panamanian jockey Josue Osorio in the saddle.

One of two winners for 2-time champion trainer Jason DaCosta, Mamma Mia won by one and a quarter lengths in 1:13.0,  handing Osorio his first win on local soil.

Meanwhile, Oasis Jak handed leading jockey Tevin Foster one of three winners, as the pair romped to victory in Division 1 of the Grooms Association of Jamaica Trophy, a Restricted Allowance 4 contest going five furlongs straight.

Foster extended his lead in the jockeys' standings with 34 wins, nine clear of Raddesh Roman.

In the meantime, Ramon Nepare rode California Gold to victory in Division 2 of the Grooms Association of Jamaica Trophy , for trainer Patrick 'Wacky' Lynch' in 59.3, just getting there by a neck.
