A new national record in the women's hammer throw has high-lighted action so far on day three of the
JAAA’s Supreme Ventures National Senior Track and Field Championships underway at the National Stadium.
Daina Levy who attends Auburn University in the USA threw a new national mark of 64.30 meters to erase the old mark of 63.75 meters which was set in 2001 by Grettel Miller-Tjiroze.
Canigga Raynor threw 56.31 meters to win the Men's hammer throw.
On the track, there were no casualties in the Men's 200 meter heats on Sunday with race favourites
Nickel Ashmeade 21.49 seconds, Olympic bronze Warren Weir 20.49 and Jason Young 21.09 all safely advancing to the evening's semi-finals.
There were no preliminaries for the women's 200 meters with the semi-finals to be contested on Sunday evening.The semi-finals of the mens and women's 400 meters will also be contested on Sunday.
Ten finals are scheduled to completed on Sunday including the men's and women's 800 meters, the men's and women's sprint hurdles as well as the men's discus throw and long jump.
