Nicholson on target for Clermont in Ligue 1

Reggae Boy Shamar Nicholson was on the scoresheet for Clermont as they scored a surprise 2-1 away win over Nantes to move off the foot of the French Ligue 1 table.

Nicholson actually gave Clermont the lead in the 29th minute, his third goal for the club since joining the struggling French outfit in September of last year.

However, Nantes would find the equalizer shortly after half time when Florent Mollet pulled them level in the 47th.

They came close to finding the winner late in the contest, but Clermont would make them pay dearly as man of the moment Nicholson was again involved, turning provider for Jim Allevinah to score the winner in the 89th minute.

This was also Nicholson's third assist for the club.

With the win, Clermont moved one place up to 17th in the 18 team table on 14 points, while Nantes stayed in 13th position.
