The time frame and structure for the 2020 ISSA schoolboy football, basketball and netball competitions could see amendments if and when the season for the respective events eventually gets underway. The 2020/21 school year is set to start on September 7 but with the spread of the Covid 19 coronavirus pandemic having brought a halt to all global and local sporting events, uncertainty surrounds a prompt start to this year’s competitions.

ISSA president Keith Wellington and his executive had a virtual meeting Tuesday where they discussed possible ways forward for high school sporting events when the new school year gets underway.

Wellington told Radio Jamaica Sports that a look will have to be taken at the timing for football, basketball and netball which are normally the major competitions in the first term. He added that a final decision would be made towards the end of June.
