Reggae Boyz centre-back Ethan Pinnock looks set to sign with Coventry from Brentford on a £6 million deal. The deal consists of a £5 million fee with £1 million in add-ons, and will tie the 33-year-old defender to the newly-promoted Premier League side for three years with the option of a further 12 months.
The Jamaican international has been given permission to travel for a medical ahead of the proposed move. Pinnock has entered the final year of his contract in West London, which runs to 2027, and did not play in their season-opening victory over Tottenham Hotspur on Saturday.
He's set to be Coventry's ninth summer arrival, and their second at centre-back. Pinnock joined Brentford from Barnsley in 2019 and has gone on to make 216 appearances, providing 12 goals and seven assists, while playing a key role in their 2020-21 promotion campaign from the championship.
