The 2018 edition of the Hong Kong Sevens Rugby Tournament has been announced for April 6 to 8. Jamaica's men’s Reggae Crocs will be making their 3rd appearance in this tournament after winning the Rugby Americas North Sevens Tournament in Mexico last year.
The other nations that will be involved in the World Series qualifier are Guyana, Uruguay, Chile, Papua New Guinea, the Cook Islands, Zimbabwe, Uganda, Japan, Ireland, Germany and the hosts Hong Kong. The groups for this tournament will be announced in February.
After this 43rd staging of the tournament, the Jamaicans will head to Gold Coast, Australia for their debut appearance in the Commonwealth Games. Later in the year they will also participate in the Rugby Sevens World Cup and the Central American and Caribbean Games. Jamaica is the first Caribbean country to qualify for a Rugby Sevens World Cup.
