The finals jinx still plagues Duhaney Park Red Sharks, who lost 36-14 to defending champions Vauxhall Vultures in Saturday's National Rugby League grand final, their fifth final defeat in six years.
Half of the 10 local players who toured England recently play for the Red Sharks including their vice-captain Andre Reid.
“We're a very young team so there was some indiscipline in some aspects of our play, to overcome that we just need to go back to the drawing board and refocus. Technically we are very good, the experience level is lacking…we just need to get the guys better prepared,” Reid said.
On the flip side, it's the Vulture's fourth title.
They were held to just a try in the second half, after scoring 30 points in the first.
Their captain is Andrew Fong.
“This is our third game against the Sharks…we intended to just come out and tackle, tackle, tackle and keep possession of the ball and that’s what happened and we came out victorious at the end of the game,” Fong said.
