Jamaica's men's and women's rugby union teams returned to the island on Monday after podium finishes at the 2017 Americas North Tournament in Mexico on the weekend. The largely UK-based Jamaican men's team finished top of the podium after beating Guyana 28-24 in the final.
The result means Jamaica's men's side qualified for the 2018 Hong Kong Sevens Tournament as well as the Sevens Tournament at the Commonwealth Games and the CAC Games. Owen Linton was the only local player on the men's team.
The women's team who qualified for the CASCO Games in 2018, finished third as hosts Mexico were crowned champions.
