Jamaican left arm seamer Krishmar Santokie is among four regional players who have been forced to retire from international cricket because of a desire to play in the Masters Cricket League (MCL).
The MCL, an International Cricket Council or ICC-approved tournament, is meant for retired players. It forced the international retirement of Shivnarine Chanderpaul last week.
Santokie who played twelve T20's for the West Indies and Barbadians Fidel Edwards and Tino Best, have all received no objection certificates from the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) after confirming their retirements.
It means they are now eligible to contest the January 28 to February 13 tournament in the United Arab Emirates.
The players are also still eligible to compete for their respective franchises in their member countries, regional tournaments and other worldwide leagues.
The exception is Edwards, who is a Kolpak player, as having opted to play for Hampshire in the United Kingdom, he gave up his right to play for his member country.
He would therefore have to apply to participate as an overseas player for any regional tournament.
