Discarded West Indian batsman Ramnaresh Sarwan has downplayed his inclusion in a 30-man regional squad to prepare for next year's Cricket World Cup on the Asian continent.
The 30-year-old right-hander was axed ahead of the tour of Sri Lanka last month and denied a West Indies Cricket Board central retainer contract over fitness issues.
Sarwan says he is happy to be part of the squad.
"Hopefully I will be able to be as consistent as I was when I just started. I'm happy to be part of the squad," he said.
Sarwan, a veteran of 83 tests and 156 one-day internationals, last played for the West Indies back in May in the second one day international against South Africa, during their tour of the Caribbean.
