Sarwan says he is fit and ready to return to international cricket

Out-of-favour West Indies batsman, Ramnaresh Sarwan, says  he is “fit, available and ready” for a return to top flight international cricket, despite being overlooked by the west Indies cricket board (WICB) selectors for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh.

Sarwan  who is currently serving a two-year contract with English country side Leicestershire, says  that contractual arrangements do not prevent him from being selected for the West Indies, and he’s baffled at his continuous omission, especially after making himself available.

The former West Indies captain says he contacted chairman of selectors, Clyde Butts, via email on august 10, 2012, indicating his availability for selection to all formats of the game.

According to Sarwan, butts replied the following day acknowledging that he had received the email, adding that same was sent to coach Ottis Gibson and Captain Darren Sammy.

However, Sarwan says he has not received a response from any of the above mentioned parties since.

On September 11, 2012, the middle-order batsman says he again made contact with butts via email “to inquire as to the status of the response to his letter and  requesting that he  be considered for selection.”
