Scorpions' latest Super50 match abandoned as a no-result

The Jamaica Scorpions were denied a chance to seek their third victory from four games in this year's CG United Super 50 Cup, as their latest encounter against the Guyana Harpy Eagles at the Queen's Park Oval was abandoned as a no-result on Thursday. 

The Scorpions who batted first, got to 162-6 after 41.3 overs when rain halted play. There were half centuries for captain John Campbell and Jermaine Blackwood who shared a third wicket stand of 73.
 
Blackwood scored an undefeated 63 including 6 boundaries, while Campbell struck 53 with 2 sixes and 3 fours. 
Ashmead Nedd claimed 2-23.

The Scorpions are now 5th in the table on 25 points, 12 behind leaders and defending champions Trinidad and Tobago Red Force.

The Scorpions will next be in action against the Combined Campuses and Colleges on Sunday at the Queen’s Park Oval.

Meanwhile, in Thursday's other game, the Trinidad and Tobago Red Force defeated the West Indies Academy by 9 wickets with 143 balls to spare.

The Windies Academy was bowled out for 135 in 34.2 overs with Joshua Bishop and Rivaldo Clarke getting 31 and 30 respectively against Yannic Cariah 4-37 and Khary Pierre 3-14.

The Red Force in reply, cruised to victory at 136-1 in 26.1 overs. Amir Jangoo slammed an undefeated 70, while Kjorn Ottley was left not out on 42.
