Olympians Oblique Seville and Nickisha Pryce are the latest Jamaicans to sign for the Michael Johnson-led Grand Slam Track League.
The pair join fellow Jamaicans Ackera Nugent, Rushell Clayton and Roshawn Clarke in signing for the league. Seville who ended 8th in the Paris Olympic men's 100m final, also had fourth-place finishes in the 100m at the 2022 and 2023 World Championships.
He was also Memeber of Jamaica's bronze medal winning sprint relay team at the 2023 World Championships in Budapest.
Pryce who won 400m national titles in 2023 and 2024, also had a strong collegiate career that culminated in her becoming the 2024 NCAA 400m champion, breaking the NCAA record and Jamaican national record with her 48.89 second performance. She made it to the semi-finals of the event at the Paris Olympics
43 of the planned 48 racer spots have now been announced. A total of 96 athletes, 48 racers and 48 challengers, will compete in each slam.
Grand Slam has a prize pot of $12.6 million and the category winners of slam will win $100,000.
Kingston will serve as the host city for the league's inaugural slam event set for April 4-6, 2025 at the National Stadium.
