Jamaica's men's and women's teams are back home after copping the bronze medals in their divisions at the recent Caribbean Senior Volleyball Championships in Nassau, Bahamas.
In men's group stage action, Jamaica recorded a 3-2 victory over host nation the Bahamas before losing 3-1 to Suriname. In the quarter-finals, they defeated Trinidad and Tobago 3-1 and then lost 3-0 to Curacao in the semi-finals.
However, the Jamaicans rebounded to beat Suriname 3-1 in the bronze medal encounter, an improvement on their quarter-final exit from 2023.
In the women's division, Jamaica started out with a 3-0 loss to Barbados and then defeated the Bahamas 3-1. A 3-0 win over Suriname in the quarter-finals was then followed a 3-0 loss to Trinidad and Tobago in the semi- final round.
The Jamaican women who entered the tournament as defending champions from the last edition two years ago, secured the bronze medal this time around with a 3-0 victory over Guadeloupe.
In terms of individual awards, Jamaica's Rick Webb was named the best server and Anesia Edwards, the second best middle blocker.
Curacao swept the Bahamas to win the men's title, while Trinidad and Tobago dethroned Barbados for the women's crown.
