The 2-1 second choice Sheer Delight with 6 time former champion jockey Omar Walker aboard for trainer Dalton Sirjue, held on narrowly to win Saturday's feature event, the World Vet Day Trophy for Overnight Allowance runners over a mile at Caymanas Park.
The American-bred 4 year dark bay colt had to fend off a late surge from the 7-5 favourite Rhythm Buzz. Sheer Delight covered the distance in a minute, 39.2 seconds. There was a power outage during the running of the feature event.
Meanwhile, champion jockey Raddesh Roman and former champion Wesley "Callaloo" Henry who is in Jamaica for a short stint, each had two wins on the card. Racing continues on Sunday with a 10 race card starting at noon.
