Sunshine Girl McLean to play in UK's Netball Super League next year

Sunshine Girl Roxonna McLean will be plying her trade in England's Netball Super League next season, having signed for the Birmingham Panthers.
 
The 22 year old McLean who is a goalkeeper, captained Jamaica's Under-21 squad at the Netball World Youth Cup last year in Gibraltar and also represented Melaka Mystic in the Malaysia Netball Super League earlier this year.
    
An official start date for the 2027 season of the UK’s Netball Super League has not yet been formally announced, but the league usually gets underway in February.

Meanwhile, another Sunshine Girl, goal-shooter Shimona Nelson has renewed her contract with the Melbourne Mavericks in the Suncorp Super Netball League in Australia.

The 27 year old Nelson joined the Mavericks in 2024 after her previous team, the Collingwood Magpies, withdrew from the league at the end of the 2023 season.
