Tallawahs beat Kings to reach CPL qualifier

The Jamaica Tallawahs will face the Guyana Amazon Warriors in the second CPL qualifier on Wednesday, following their 33 run victory over the St Lucia Kings in their elimination match at the Providence Stadium in Guyana on Tuesday.

Having been sent to bat, the Tallawahs posted 148-8 with Shamarh Brooks top scoring with 47 off 31 balls.

Mohammed Nabi was the next best with 31 not out off 15 balls, while Raymon Riefer chipped in with a 23-ball knock of 25.

David Wiese took 3-19 for the Kings while Alzarri Joseph picked up 2-31. The Kings chasing 149 for victory, were dismissed 115 in 18 overs.

Faf du Plessis led the way with 41, while Alzarri Joseph got an undefeated 28 against Mohammad Nabi 3-10; Fabian Allen 3-28 and two wickets each for Imad Wasim and Mohammad Amir.

The winner of the Tallawahs/Amazon Warriors clash will meet the Barbados Royals in the grand finale on Friday also at the Providence Stadium.
