Thompson and McLeod to face tough fields at Lausanne Diamond League

Olympic champions Elaine Thompson and Omar McLeod are set to face tough fields at the  Lausanne Diamond League meet on July 5 in Switzerland. Thompson will face two-time world 200m champion Dafne Schippers, double world silver medallist Marie-Josee Ta Lou and World Indoor 60m champion Murielle Ahoure in the women's 100meters

World and Olympic champion  McLeod will take on 2015 world champion Sergey Shubenkov in the  men's 10m hurdles. New Commonwealth Games champion Janieve Russell will face off with Olympic champion Dalilah Muhammad, and another inform American, Shamier Little in the women's 400 meter hurdles. All three women have bettered 54 seconds in the event so far this season.

A mega clash at the meet will see rising 20 year old American Michael Norman the world Under-20 200m champion who clocked a lifetime best of 43.61 to win the NCAA Division 400m title in the USA recently facing fellow American and world indoor 60m champion Christian Coleman and joint world leader Noah Lyles over 200 meters. Norman had announced turning professional immediately after the NCAA Championships.
