Tivoli and Portmore miss chance to close gap on JPL leaders Cavalier

Former champions Tivoli Gardens and Portmore United missed out on the opportunity to close in on leaders Cavalier in Sunday's latest round of matches in the Wray & Nephew Jamaica Premier League (JPL).

The pair battled to a 0-0 draw in their clash at the Stadium East Sports Complex. With the point apiece, Portmore stayed third on 40 points and Tivoli fourth on 39.

Leaders cavalier who were idle due to CONCACAF Champions Cup obligations, are on 43 points, the same as defending champions Mount Pleasant. It was a 13th game without defeat for Portmore United.

Meanwhile, Waterhouse strengthened their claim for a top six spot by ambushing Humble Lion 5-1 at the Effortville Community Center.

Waterhouse moved to 30 points with the win and were inspired by a double strike from Andre Fletcher along with goals from Revaldo Mitchell, Javane Aryan and Davaughn Dunkley.

It was a fifth straight defeat for Humble Lion who have a solitary win in ten matches.
