The West Indies players who aborted the tour of India should soon know if they face any repercussions relating to their place in the team.
On Thursday, in its first statement since a meeting with all stakeholders last Friday, the West Indies Cricket Board (WICB) said next week it will provide dates on which the limited overs and test teams for the tour of South Africa will be announced
Some players fear victimisation for their strike and have requested that the Board starts with a clean slate, following negotiations last week.
The Board has also dismissed reports that Sir Richie Richardson, team manager for the aborted India tour, has been replaced by Barbadian Joel Garner for the South African tour. It said a team management unit de-briefing will take place on November 11 in Antigua.
As for the details of last week's meeting with the players, their representatives and Wavell Hinds, President of the West Indies Players Association, and two regional prime ministers, the Board said it is awaiting a response from the players’ lawyers regarding a joint statement before making the contents of that meeting known publicly .
