Windies crush Bangladesh to take 1-0 lead

The West Indies secured their first test match win at home in two and a half years after they completed a 201 run win over Bangladesh on the final day of the first test at the Sir Viv Richards Stadium in Antigua.

Having resumed their second innings on 109-7, in pursuit of an unlikely 334 to win, Bangladesh were further reduced to 132-9.

Number 11 batter Shoriful Islam was then forced to retire hurt after being hit on shoulder, ending the Bangladesh innings and handing West Indies victory and a 1-0 lead in the 2 match series. 

Kemar Roach ended with 3-20, Jayden Seales 3-45 and Alzarri Joseph 2-32 for the West Indies. West Indies first innings century maker Justin Greaves was named Player of the Match.

Scores in the match: West Indies 450-9 declared and 152, Bangladesh 269-9 declared and 132-9. The Windies pace attack took an impressive 18 wickets between them during the game. The second test will be played at Sabina Park starting on Saturday.
