The West Indies women won a last ball thriller against Ireland women to take a 1-0 lead in their 3-match T20 series in the match played at the Daren Sammy Cricket Stadium in St Lucia on Tuesday.
The Windies women restricted their Irish counterparts to 112-7 off their 20 overs after asking them to take first strike.
Laura Delany top scored with 34 and Eimaar Richardson made 22 against 3-22 from captain Hayley Matthews and 2-22 from Cherry-Ann Fraser.
Matthews then top scored with 37 and Afy Fletcher made 19, as the Windies eventually got to victory at 113-8 off the final ball of the innings.
The second match will be played on Thursday at the same venue. The Windies women had earlier won the 3-match ODI series 2-0.
